IWCC Training History

Our History

In 2009, IWCC celebrated its 40th year in business.  Starting off as a small writing skills training company in Calgary, Alberta, IWCC was acquired byJean Findlater in 1988 and the company relocated to Toronto at that time. Under Jean’s leadership, IWCC grew into a full-service, 30-person communications training organization with Fortune 1000 clients across North America and in Europe. From its original roots in business writing skills, IWCC has – over the years – expanded its offerings to include a full curriculum of workshops in business and technical writing, presentation skills and meeting skills.

Tim Duffy acquired IWCC in 2007. Under Tim’s leadership, IWCC is now embarking on the next stage of its growth and development. Tim is committed to continuing the expansion of IWCC’s offerings and to explore additional delivery platforms to meet the changing needs of today’s corporations. Jean Findlater remains with us as Executive Director and she continues to manage many of IWCC’s largest clients.

In early 2010, IWCC’s Corporate Office moved to Kitchener/Waterloo. One of the fastest growing regions in North America, Kitchener/Waterloo is located just 50 minutes west of Toronto. Our move to Kitchener marks the beginning of a new phase in IWCC’s growth and development and will be an ideal location from which we will continue to serve our multinational clients in new and innovative ways.
